Finding Venice 2010 - 2011

The body of work I call Finding Venice is just that: my response to the beauties, large and small, the constant changing theme and variations and the myriad influences that make up Venice. The artistic challenge of this wonderful city with it’s stew of impressions, emotions, vistas and histories was to make it come alive in two dimensions in paint; through looking, responding, putting down then repainting and then painting again. I hope the progressive nature and diversity of this exhibition leads the viewer some way into the amazing complexity of the miracle of cities – Venice .
